So mini composition books are my thing lately.

Mini composition notebooks are easy to find at least here in the US. They can be found at the Dollar Tree, Walmart, probably online, they’re very unique size 3.25 x 4.5 inches. Being that size means that normal traveler’s notebook covers don’t fit.
I created this one with a heavy duty fabric sample, and some cotton for the liner. That that’s a fun little project if you ever want to try it. I’ll link something here If I do a tutorial.
I really wanna get out here, is that this small little notebook system is what is keeping everything together recently so I wanted to share. I have been through a lot of different notebook systems from bullet journaling, digital planners, standard size travelers notebook, 6 ring A4 binders. You name it, I’ve tried it. It’s crazy to me that I’ve landed here. A few reasons why I like it.
- It can go anywhere.
- It’s small enough to where you don’t feel precious about it.
- It’s a great way to stop the scroll.
- You can fill them up quickly so it’s easy to feel accomplished!
- It’s cute.
- It’s chunky.

The Set Up
I have 2 books in there. Thinking about adding a 3rd custom one.
One of my notebooks is divided up into sections –
- Backlog/Action Items
- Client work
- Business
- Projects
The other is a junk journal/common place/ diary/ braindump all in one. I just date it and have a index in the front to mark important sections.
Now that is pretty straight forward. as for the 3rd custom book I’m thinking about making… It’s the “these things stay” section. I imagine it will be thinner than the other books but I’ve been finding myself needing a place to add a calendar, addresses, passwords, bill tracker. Things that I don’t want to switch out regularly if one of the other notebooks fills up quickly.
The Ever Evolving Project.

The next step is to create this 3rd section. For now i’m just going to elastic it into the 1st one, but does that mean I will need a new cover soon with 3 elastics??? Haha
I’ve been wanting to make another cover just for the sake of making one. I honestly like the one I have but something is just nagging at me to sew another. Maybe this custom notebook will be a reason enough to do so and I can post about it here.
Overall I’m happy and have been using this system for a little while which surprises me.
